Singer Luis Coronel has been given a big career boost after he was crowned Newcomer of the Year at the inaugural Premios Los Angeles Awards.
The 18 year old walked away with the trophy after coming out on top in a public vote online, and he paid tribute to his devotees for their ongoing support during the ceremony in Los Angeles on Wednesday (28May14).
He said, "I want to thank all of the L.A. fans. You've never failed me. I live through you."
Meanwhile, Enrique Bunbury earned Best Pop/Rock Album for Palosanto, Alex Rivera was named Composer of the Year and Regulo Caro won Best Regional Mexican Artist.
Other winners at the pre-taped prizegiving, which celebrates the most popular musical acts in Mexican music, included La Arrolladora Banda El Limon (Best Banda Artist), Amantes de Sinaloa (Best Los Angeles Underground Artist) and Buknas de Culiacan (Best Altered Movement Artist).
