Daniel 'Woody' Woodgate - Madness Star Blasts Brit Awards Snub
MADNESS star Daniel 'woody' Woodgate has blasted Brit Awards bosses for failing to honour the veteran pop stars with a lifetime achievement trophy.
The Our House hitmakers have notched up 15 top 10 singles in their native U.K. since shooting to fame in the 1980s, and they still regularly sell out tours across Europe.
Fans have launched an online campaign for the band's stellar career to be honoured with a prestigious Brit - and drummer Woodgate is baffled that organisers of the event repeatedly snub them.
He tells British magazine Seven, "It's not important, but it would mean a lot to us. People like to be loved, don't they? We've just been overlooked, and it's becoming rather rude now, I think. It's bizarre. If you ask anyone who they think is the archetypal British band, they'd say Madness."
