Madness star LEE THOMPSON was admitted to hospital on Saturday (04Dec10) after he injured himself falling into the audience during a gig.
The band was performing at the De Montfort Hall in Leicester, England when the saxophonist stumbled into the crowd just two songs into their set.
Some lighting equipment also came crashing down with Thompson as the group continued playing track Embarrassment, reports Britain's Daily Star newspaper.
He was then taken backstage, while frontman Graham 'Suggs' MCPherson informed the crowd Thompson had been taken to hospital for medical attention and to put "plasters on his knees".
Madness completed the show without Thompson present.
