Rocker Lenny Kravitz has been supporting Madonna throughout her campaign to adopt another child - even lending the pop superstar his mansion in France while she dealt with the legal issues.
The Material Girl began official proceedings to adopt four-year-old Mercy James from Malawi in April (09), but her first attempt was rejected by the country's courts.
The singer launched an appeal and eventually won the right to become the youngster's legal guardian earlier this month (Jun09).
Her pal Kravitz admits he stepped in to help the star during her ordeal as she fought to make Mercy a member of her family - and sheltered her at his home in France to keep her out of the spotlight.
He says, "It has been tough for Madonna. But she's doing good. She's been staying in France while it was going on. I'm glad it's worked out."
