A homeless man is facing up to 10 years behind bars after pleading guilty to making threats against the life of British royal Prince Harry.

Ashraf Islam, 30, was arrested on 23 May (13) after walking into a west London police station and launching into the menacing tirade - a day after the country was rocked by the murder of 25-year-old Army drummer Lee Rigby, who was brutally hacked to death by an Islamic radical in Woolwich, south east London.

Islam appeared before a judge in Uxbridge Magistrates Court on 25 May (13). He is currently being held in custody awaiting sentencing.

A representative for Prince Harry, a second lieutenant in the British Army who has served two tours in Afghanistan, has declined to comment on the arrest.
