Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg obviously has a keen eye for a pun, as proved by the opening of his new hamburger restaurant 'Wahlburgers'. The 40 year-old has made the foray into the catering business with brothers Donnie and Paul, with their first eatery opening in Hingham Shipyard, Massachusetts, near the siblings' home city of Boston.
The actor is yet to appear in a movie this year, though has two coming out in 2012 - action 'Contraband' in which he stars alongside Kate Beckinsale and the more laidback comedy 'Ted.' Instead he's been putting his efforts into the restaurant and the brothers ate there with their mother Alma and CNN anchor Anderson Cooper on Tuesday (October 25th 2011) for a red carpet dinner. Clearly enthused at his new venture, Donnie Wahlberg tweeted "Had dinner, at @Wahlburgers with the fam & @andersoncooper on Saturday- amazing guy! I think he took Oprah's place as my moms favorite! :)"
Meanwhile, OnTheRedCarpet.com reports that among the items on the restaurant's menu are the Thanksgiving burger, featuring "fresh, ground, seasoned turkey, stuffing, Paul's orange cranberry sauce, roasted butternut squash and mayonnaise," and a Bbq bacon burger that features "turkey or beef topped with bacon, avocado, jalapenos, white cheddar cheese and Bbq sauce" Mark is yet to comment on the opening.
