Beatles producer SIR George Martin has added his tribute to late composer John Barry, who died from a heart attack on Sunday (30Jan11).
Martin tells Britain's Channel 4 News, Barry was "probably our most famous film score writer".
He says, "You could always identify John's scores. They were very dramatic. They leant themselves to the film in a way that enhanced everything. He was an extraordinary musician - very, very clever.
"Without John Barry there would be no James Bond theme, because the whole essence of that was the excitement, the drama, the orchestration."
David Arnold, Simon Le Bon and Mark Ronson are among the other musicians who have paid their respects to the Oscar winner, who composed the scores for legendary Bond films like Goldfinger, From Russia With Love, Thunderball and Diamonds Are Forever.
