Martina McBride is upset over her former record label bosses' decision to release a compilation of her hits as she only found out about the project on Twitter.

The country star left Rca Records in 2010 and signed a new deal with Republic Nashville, and she has now discovered executives at her former home are planning a greatest hits album for next month (Oct12).

MCBride is adamant she wasn't consulted about The Essential Martina MCBride record and was blindsided by the release.

In a series of posts on Twitter.com, she writes, "Wow! Kinda sucks that I had 2 (sic) find out on Twitter that Rca is releasing a Cd of 40 of my songs. Hope I at least get a free copy... Having said that I'm not mad about it. Just would have been cool to get a phone call. I wonder what the cover looks like?"
