British singer/actress Martine McCutcheon has thanked fans for their support after she was declared bankrupt.

The Love Actually star recently filed for bankruptcy with debts of $238,000 (£149,000) owed to Britain's HM Revenue & Customs and another $48,000 (£30,000) to Lloyds Bank in the U.K.

After the news hit the headlines on Tuesday (12Feb13), MCCutcheon took to Twitter.com to reveal she was moved by the outpouring of support from her followers.

She writes, "I can't begin to express my love and gratitude for such kind and encouraging messages. I'm truly so touched. I love you guys. Thank you."

MCCutcheon shot to fame in her native U.K. on hit soap opera EastEnders, before launching a successful pop career and starring opposite Hugh Grant in 2004's hit comedy Love Actually.
