Mccartney Plays Through Torrential Rain
Sir Paul McCartney battled through thunder and lightning on Saturday (14Jun08) during his first concert in the Ukraine.
The former Beatle performed to tens of thousands of fans at the free Independence Concert in the capital city of Kiev.
And he made sure it was worth their while, playing a two-and-a-half hour set through torrential rain.
The 65-year-old treated the crowd to a string of hits from his Beatles heyday to his solo career, but the highlight of the night was his rendition of his Wings James Bond theme Live And Let Die.
After his main performance, MCCartney returned for two encores, finishing with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
And he made sure to thank the crowd for braving the heavy downpour.
He said: "It's great to be here. Thank you for coming out in the rain. We want to thank you for being a beautiful audience. We hope you enjoyed the show."
