R&B icons Boyz II Men asked former member Michael Mccary to rejoin the group to record tracks for their retrospective album, but he turned them down.
The band started as a quartet in the 1980s, but became a three-piece following MCCary's departure in the early 2000s.
Remaining members Nathan Morris, Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman are marking the anniversary of their debut record, 1991's Cooleyhighharmony, by recording old and new tracks for a retrospective record called Twenty.
They have now revealed they asked MCCary to be a part of the project, but he decided against rejoining his former bandmates in the studio.
Nathan Morris, who re-recorded MCCary's baritone parts himself, tells the New York Daily News, "We reached out to Michael to be on this record... Mike just completely got lazy."
Wanya Morris adds, "As far as recording is concerned, Nate is Mike."
