Mel B is already in training for a Spice Girls reunion.

The 34-year-old singer has denied reports the girl band - comprising Mel, Geri Halliwell, Mel C, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham - are uniting to launch the soccer World Cup in South Africa next year, but has refused to rule out taking to the stage with them again in the future.

She wrote on her Twitter page: "World cup! wow the rumours are soo silly no I am not getting the girls together for the world cup!!! We are getting together for other reasons.

"Just did an hour workout and kicked my own ass, getting my fitness up for my next trip to london at the beginning of oct (sic)!"

It is thought Mel could be travelling to the UK next month to discuss details of the reunion with other members of the band.

Reports they were set to take to the stage together began circulating earlier this month when Mel B, Mel C, Geri and Emma were spotted at London's The Palm restaurant together.

Victoria was not at the meeting as she was showcasing her new clothing collection at New York Fashion Week.

Mel B fuelled reunion rumours by writing on Twitter: "Spice girls, stadiums?????????? Had dinner with the amazing melc emma and geri I love them so much (sic)."

Geri later said: "We are friends first and foremost. Obviously a career and music evolved through that friendship I think. Whatever happens afterwards is a bonus. We always talk about creative plans. Right - now, I'll be honest. We are gathering information about a possibility."
