Melanie Chisholm - Melanie Chisholm Takes Part In Charity Run
British singer Melanie Chisholm proved she was still Sporty Spice on Saturday (06Apr13) by taking part in a charity race in her native Liverpool, England.
The former Spice Girls star was in her hometown to pound the streets as part of the Hillsborough to Anfield run, which raises money for the Alder Hey Childrens hospital in Liverpool and The Children's Hospital Charity in Sheffield, England.
The 96-mile (154.49-kilometre) race is in memory of the 96 Liverpool soccer club fans who passed away in 1989 during the tragic Hillsborough Stadium crush.
Chisholm took part in the final leg of the run, which takes place over three days.
Before the challenge, she took to Twitter.com, writing, "So excited to be joining the @HillsboroughAnf crew tomorrow. They've done an amazing job...
"Me and (fellow runner) PaulONeill are cheating and doing the last few miles to glorious Anfield."
It's the second Hillsborough-related event Chisholm has given her support to - last year (12) the singer took part in The Justice Collective's charity release of the song He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother, alongside the likes of Sir Paul MCCartney and Robbie Williams, to help raise money for the families of the soccer tragedy.
