Representatives for the Red Hot Chili Peppers' official merchandising company have filed suit against a man accused of flogging unauthorised band T-shirts outside of the group's concerts.
Bravado International bosses claim they have an exclusive deal with the Under The Bridge hitmakers and Florida resident Mike Smith is infringing on their rights by using the group's name to hawk his own clothing.
The plaintiffs allege Smith's items are of inferior quality and can cause product confusion with fans, damaging their reputation, according to Tmz.com.
Bravado are suing for unspecified damages and are demanding Smith quit his illegal business and destroy all remaining T-shirts.
