Rock legends Metallica stunned fans at a Michigan music festival on Saturday (08Jun13) when they took to the stage under a fake name and played their debut album in its entirety.

Fans at the Orion Music + More Festival in Detroit had no clue the band was set to play as the schedule listed unknown rockers Dehaan as the performing act.

However the crowd went wild as the stars stepped on stage and started performing the group's 1983 record Kill 'Em All from the beginning.

Metallica frontman James Hetfield whipped up the revellers by saying, "We're here to introduce Dehaan. Does anyone know who they are?"

Dehaan is the surname of the actor set to take the lead in Metallica's 3D movie Through The Never. Dane Dehaan plays the band's roadie who is sent out on an errand but ends up becoming embroiled in a surreal adventure.
