Mexican Actress Maria Elena Velasco Dies At 74

Mexican Actress Maria Elena Velasco Has Died At The Age Of 74.
The La India Maria star passed away after suffering a heart attack in Mexico City on Friday (01May15).
Velasco began her career in 1962 and starred in several films and TV shows, including Papa soltero, Huapango and Wild at Heart. She made her directorial debut with 1983's El coyote emplumado.
In addition to her onscreen work, Velasco worked as a dancer before her career took off.
She is survived by her three children with Russian actor and choreographer Julian de Meriche.
