Beloved Mexican comedian Capulina died on Friday (30Sep11). He was 84.
Often seen as the country's version of portly American funnyman Oliver Hardy, Capulina - real name Gaspar Henaine Perez - enjoyed six decades in the spotlight. He passed away at a Mexico City hospital. The cause of his death is yet to be released, but he had been suffering from pneumonia.
Capulina appeared in more than 100 movies, as the often bumbling sidekick and went on to be a hit in Mexican kids' shows.
