Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez is set to retire after his next tour, bringing his 45-year long career to an end.
The 71 year old, who has sold more than 65 million records worldwide, will play shows in Latin America, Spain and the U.S. this year (12) and then plans to hang up his microphone.
He made the announcement on Mexican station Televisa on Wednesday (08Feb12), and vowed to dedicate himself to family life after he leaves the stage.
As well as his music career, Fernandez - who won his first Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Album in 2010 - has also appeared in more than 20 films.
