Michael Douglas Warned Shia Off Carey Romance
'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' actor Michael Douglas warned his co-stars Shia LaBeouf and Carey Mulligan that embarking on a relationship would be a bad idea.
The veteran actor advised his 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' co-stars - who recently ended their year-long romance - not to embark on a relationship as it is never a good idea to mix business with pleasure.
Michael - who played Carey's father in the film - said: "I warned Shia about that. I told him, 'Do not get involved with your leading lady. Trust me. Whatever you do, don't do that.'"
Michael - who has children Dylan, 10, and Carys, seven, with wife Catherine Zeta-Jones as well as 31-year-old Cameron from his previous marriage - has recently completed a gruelling course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment for throat cancer and although he is optimistic about the outcome, he admitted it was bad timing as there is so much he still wants to do with his life.
The 66-year-old star said: "The timing of this sucks because there are so many things I wanted to do that I can't right now. But I'm convinced that I'm going to lick it and come out a stronger and better person."
