Michael Jackson's final resting place has been vandalised.

A group of fans of the late singer - who died of acute Propofol intoxication last June - managed to obtain access to the Great Mausoleum at Los Angeles' Forest Lawn Memorial Park, with the cemetery now pledging to review security following the incident.

A representative for the site told gossip website TMZ: "Activity such as this is a prime example why we are evaluating the level of access to the various entrances of the Great Mausoleum."

The fans had penned messages - including "Miss you sweet angel" and "Keep the dream alive" - in hard-to-spot areas outside the main window of the building where the late 'Thriller' star is entombed.

The wording was discovered tucked away under window ledges and areas of the wall hidden behind bushes, amongst other places.

Earlier this year, Michael's brother Randy campaigned for fans to be allowed access to the cemetery, though officials refused to let the singer's supporters inside the Great Mausoleum, which is also the final resting place of other showbiz legends, including Clark Gable and Jean Harlow.

Very disappointing news. It's also disappointing to find that the first news after a brief lull is negative.

I think that if michael was shown at his memorial, to show his fans one more time in open casket to see there idol, there wouldn't be any problems today. there is no closer for the fans, like james brown, and few others who had an open casket, to show the world there idol. and michael was a HUGE ICON AROUND THE WORLD,therefore lot of fans including myself, have no closer, there should have been something to verify he is gone,,,we fans LOVE HIM AND MISS HIM,I don't think these fans meant any harm they just had to put there feelings somewhere to feel close to him.he is still alive in our hearts....

All Michael Jackson's fans would have loved to see him at the memorial in a open casket, however his family knew how much he loved his privacy & opted not to put him on display; it's their perogative. We fans just have to understand & respect Katherine & the family's desicion. These so call fans that wrote grafiti on the walls should be fined, because now MJ fans probably wont be allowed in the cemetary at all. These fan have no proper home training! Is this what your parents thought you!! Do you go around writing on the walls inside & outside your house, school, church, Dr.'s office. Come on get real, why couldn't you just bought a card & write the message inside instead. I was looking forward to visiting on the aniversary of his death 2011 as well, but I'm sure now because of this the fans wont be allowed in FL
