Singer/songwriter Michelle Shocked's homophobic remarks at a concert in San Francisco, California on Sunday night (17Mar13) has cost her a string of tour dates.
Billboard.com reports 10 of the 11 gigs Shocked had booked for the remainder of March and April (13) have been scrapped by venue bosses after the born-again Christian took aim at gay marriage during a show at Yoshi's.
The Anchorage singer was reported as saying, "When they stop Prop 8 (law outlawing same sex marriage in California) and force priests at gunpoint to marry gays, it will be the downfall of civilisation, and Jesus will come back... You can go on Twitter and say, 'Michelle Shocked says God hates f**s'."
The plug was pulled on the concert immediately following her outburst and management officials have confirmed Shocked will never be welcomed back.
Now, 10 venues have pulled the singer from their schedules and the organisers of the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado have announced they have replaced Shocked, who was billed to perform on 23 June (13).
