Missoni's Milan menswear show will still go ahead.

The collection's autumn/winter 2013-14 showcase will take place on Sunday (14.01.13) in Italy, as part of the fashion capital's seasonal menswear schedule in order to maintain ''continuity'' for the brand, while the search for a plane carrying Vittorio Missoni and his wife Maurizia Castiglioni continues.

However, the new items will be revealed ''solely to press and buyers'', with website WWD reporting it is unlikely that no members of the fashion designer's family will be attending.

A jet carrying the couple disappeared off the coast of Venezuela last Friday (04.01.13) and rescue searchers are still searching for the aircraft, but have yet to make any discoveries.

Spokesperson for Missoni, Maddalena Aspes, announced on Saturday (05.01.13): ''The Missoni family has been informed by the Venezuelan consulate that Vittorio Missoni and his wife are missing, but we don't know any more. The authorities will resume their search for the plane in the morning.

''We are relying on the work of the Farnesina [Italy's Ministry of Foreign Affairs] and all the institutions involved, to whom we are grateful for the prompt activities in the research. As more information becomes available, the company will issue further statements.''

The plane was heading to Maiquetia from Los Rosques and went off course after only 10 nautical miles, eventually going off the radar.

Vittorio, 58, is the son of Ottavio and Rosita Missoni - the founders of the family-owned fashion house - and co-owns Missoni with his siblings Luca and Angela.
