Hurricane Sandy has forced more rock and pop acts to pull the plug on shows as the storm hits America's East Coast.

The xx, Grimes, Cat Power and Ghostface Killah have already scrapped shows over safety fears, and now Swans and Devendra have postponed their Monday night (29Oct12) gig at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.

Also to be rescheduled: the Freedom to Love Now benefit concert in New York on Tuesday (30Oct12). That event at the Beacon Theatre was to feature performances from the National, Rufus Wainwright, Beth Orton and They Might be Giants.

In a post on the concert's website, organisers write, "We are rebuilding the show on a future date, likely in the spring."

Meanwhile, Ted Leo's show with Aimee Mann, which was scheduled for Monday night at the Bowery Ballroom, has been moved to Wednesday (31Oct12), and Grouplove's shows in Washington, D.C. on Monday and Tuesday have been postponed, according to Pitchfork.com.

Most concerts in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. have been cancelled or postponed and music fans are being asked to check websites and gig information before heading out in the storm.
