George Harrison - More Unheard George Harrison Songs Set For Release
A second batch of unheard George Harrison tracks could be set for release, according to his widow.
Olivia Harrison teamed up with Beatles producer Sir George Martin's son Giles to trawl through an archive of the late star's demos to release under the name Early Takes Volume 1 earlier this year (12).
The record was released to coincide with Martin Scorsese's documentary on the musician, Living In The Material World, and now Olivia has revealed she would like to see more of Harrison's archive tracks put into the public domain.
She tells Mojo magazine, "Right now these particular tracks are a companion to the film, but I have this feeling that there could be (more albums). There is a lot of material - the 10 or 11 albums that he made all have demos and early versions and alternate takes, and there's tapes when he would be on his own in the studio, singing Let It Be Me or The Light That Has Lighted The World, and I think you really hear something special and honest in them.
"If there was a second volume, I sort of have an idea of songs that would sit nicely together. I know there's enough material, it's a matter of when."
