Superstar Dj Erick Morillo is battling through severe pain as he waits for an operation to remove shards of glass from his foot.
The DJ/producer stepped on a Champagne bottle during a gig in Las Vegas last week (ends11Mar12) but didn't seek medical attention until after he flew to Australia several days later.
An emergency room doctor told Morillo he would have to undergo an operation to remove the glass, and the star decided to wait until he gets home to New York before going for surgery so he won't have to cancel his upcoming shows.
He was told to keep weight off his foot, so he performed gigs in Dubai and Amsterdam, Netherlands over the weekend (10-11Mar12) sitting down, and hopes to finally have the operation once he is back in the Big Apple on Monday (12Mar12).
Morillo shared his pain with fans by posting a picture of his X-ray and a video of the accident on his Twitter.com page. The footage shows the star having his bloody foot bandaged by medics while he continues to DJ at Sin City's Marquee venue.
He wrote in a series of posts, "Just got X-ray of my foot and it looks like there is a piece of glass in there. Surgery time..." before adding, "Could not get glass out as it would mean not traveling to Dubai and I don't want to miss (the gig)... or Amsterdam. Going to have to wait until I get to Nyc to get the surgery to remove the glass."
