Animated star Morph is set to return to television, 35 years after he made his debut. The orange clay modelling figure and his sidekick Chas will appear in a new show for children's channel CBBC, reports the Press Association.
Morph was one of the early success's for Aardman animation studio, which went on to create the Wallace and Gromit movies and who release their new movie 'The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists' in April. Morph began life appearing on the BBC art show Take Hart, presented by the late Tony Hart, but later landed his own series. The character also appeared in short films for children's series Smart and had a brief cameo in drama series Ashes to Ashes. Morph and Chas will make a comeback in new show 'Ricky's Radical Reinventions', will be screened on CBBC. It features Aardman animator Ricky Martin, who makes everyday items and objects come to life.
CBBC controller Damien Kavanagh said, "It's exciting to be able to introduce Morph and Chas to our audience for the very first time - and parents will no doubt enjoy seeing them return to our screens too".
