Rockers Motorhead have axed a string of concerts as frontman Lemmy recovers from a reported haematoma.

The British band pulled the plug on a performance at Austria's See-Rock Festival on Saturday (22Jun13), and now a show in Milan, Italy on Tuesday (25Jun13) has been cancelled.

A post on the Facebook.com page of Barley Arts, the Italian promotion company behind the Milan gig, suggests Lemmy's "severe haematoma" - a localised collection of blood outside the blood vessels - prompted the cancellation.

A statement from the band's management reads: "We are sorry to report that Motörhead will be forced to cancel the appearance in Milan, Jun 25th. The band regret it very much but will make it up to all the fans as soon as possible."

Lemmy's latest health woes come less than a week after it was revealed the rocker recently underwent heart surgery to address ongoing cardiac problems.

Motorhead is next scheduled to perform on Friday (28Jun13), in Germany.
