Mumford & Sons have announced their Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers for 2013.

The 'Lover of Light' band frequently put on all day events in smaller towns which usually do not host touring bands, and will play five such shows in England, Canada and the US.

The group said: ''We deliberately look for towns that have something unique, or some vibe of which they are proud, explore them and enjoy what they have to offer, and then we try to bring a party without leaving too much of a trail of destruction in our wake.''

The group - Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Country Winston and Ted Dwayne - will be joined by a host of actsincluding Vampire Weekend and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros on the different dates of the tour.

The band added: ''It's a real privilege that being in Mumford & Sons has allowed us to be ... the facilitators of great musical coming-togethers.

''This means that we get to ask our favourite bands to come and play a show with us, and we get to watch them play all day. Five times in one summer too. Badass.

''The shared experience, is basically all that live music is about.''

The first of the events will take place in Lewes, Sussex, England and will take place over July 19 and 20, with a bill including Vampire Weekend, The Vaccines, Mystery Jets, Johnny Flynn & The Sussex Wit and The Very Best Soundsystem, alongside many other acts.
