Muse have been discussing their long-awaited new album 'The Resistance', revealing they used slap bass on one of the tracks.
Muse's new album features slap bass.
The trio decided to use the "uncool" bass guitar playing style - mostly featured on 80s funk records - on the track 'Unnatural Selection', which features on forthcoming LP 'The Resistance' because it fitted better than using guitars.
Bassist Chris Wolstenhome revealed: "I know it's probably not ever been cool to play slap bass. but on that song it just seemed to work, so we kept it in."
The record - the tracklisting for which was announced on the group's Twitter page - ends with an epic three-part track, 'ExoGenesis', and frontman Matt Bellamy admits he had to persuade his bandmates that it was the right way to end the album.
He said: "I kind of had to get the other two to trust me a bit with that one. But I think it's turned out amazing."
