Albums by artists including Arctic Monkeys, Adele and Charlie Simpson have reportedly been destroyed after rioters in London set fire to a stock warehouse on Monday (08Aug11).
The Sony Dadc building in Enfield, north London was torched by thugs causing chaos across the British capital, which has seen widespread violence and looting since Saturday (06Aug11).
The three-storey warehouse served as the headquarters for Pias, the U.K.'s biggest distributor of independent music in the U.K.
It held stock for more than 150 record labels such as Domino, Warp, and XL, who boast artists including Adele and Arctic Monkeys between them.
A spokesperson for Pias has confirmed the fire and revealed that bosses are "implementing their emergency plans" in the wake of the blaze.
British pop star Simpson took to his page and warned fans the fire could cause a delay in the release of his upcoming album Young Pilgrim, while Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos tweeted, "Thoughts go out to all the labels who have lost their stock in Pias fire."
The riots were prompted by the death of a 29-year-old father-of-four, who was shot by London police on Thursday (04Aug11).
