Nadya Suleman - otherwise known as Octomom - has checked into rehab.

The mother of 14 reportedly admitted herself into Southern Californian Chapman House Drug Rehabilitation Center over the weekend to seek help for her prescription drug addiction, TMZ is claiming.

A representative for Nadya, 37, confirmed the reality star has become dependent on anti-anxiety drug Xanax but wants to overcome her troubles to be the ''best mother'' she possibly can be.

Her spokesperson said: ''Nadya wanted to get off the Xanax she was prescribed by her doctor and learn to deal with her stress, exhaustion and anxiety with professional help with a team of doctors.

''Nadya wanted to deal with her issues and make sure she is the best mother she can be.''

Octomom is not paying for the treatment herself, as the facility have generously offered to pick up the bill for her.

Nayda shot to fame after creating the adult film 'Octomom: Home Alone' when she was on the brink of bankruptcy, earning her a small fortune and securing a home for her family in Palmdale, California.

It is believed three nannies have been hired and two friends will help look after her 14 children while she is away, with a driver taking the kids to and from school.

No relatives have stepped forward to care for the children.
