Naomi Campbell has "made peace" with herself.

The supermodel - who has been involved in a string of scandals throughout her career, including various claims of assault - insists she has become a better person as she has ditched her temper thanks to prayer and healthy living.

She told a Spanish magazine: "I've worked extremely hard for the last 25 years and I've always tried to look my best on a catwalk. I've been as demanding with others as I have been with myself.

"Nobody is perfect and that includes me. Recognising nobody is perfect and perfection doesn't exist, although it might seem obvious, is a long Journey.

"I've learned many things in order to make peace with myself, starting with the simplest like sleeping well, eating adequately or dedicating time in the mornings to praying and relaxing."

In 2000, Naomi pleaded guilty to assaulting her personal assistant and in 2003 she was sued by another assistant who claimed she had thrown her telephone at her.

Just a year later, the 39-year-old model was accused of slapping her maid around the face and in 2005 another personal assistant accused Naomi of hitting her over the head with her BlackBerry handset.

In 2006, the catwalk beauty was arrested after she threw a jewel-encrusted mobile phone at her housekeeper.

She was arrested again in April 2008 at London's Heathrow airport on suspicion of assaulting a police officer after one of her suitcases went missing.

Naomi recently appeared in court where she confessed she received 'blood diamonds' from Liberian dictator Charles Taylor.
