Nbc Hires Fox Exec Who Developed Two Of Its New Shows

In recent months, NBC has bought two scripted TV dramas from 20th Century Fox TV -- The Playboy Club and Awake . Now it has decided to name the person who helped develop those shows to the currently vacant post of President of NBC Entertainment Programming. She is Jennifer Salke, who has been executive vice president of creative affairs at 20th Century Fox TV since 2006, where she was previously instrumental in the development of such shows as Glee and Modern Family. In a statement, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt said Wednesday, "There is no one in the television business more perfect for this job than Jennifer Salke. ... I've known and worked with her for many years and have the utmost respect for her creative instincts, her relationships with talent of all kinds, and probably most of all, her taste."
