NE-YO has been discussing Leona Lewis, claiming the singer should go out on tour in order to overcome her shyness.

The X-Factor winner is due to embark on a full tour next year, but recent reports have suggested she is nervous about large-scale performances.

NE-YO – who befriended the 23-year-old when they collaborated on her debut album SPIRIT - said she should familiarise herself with the tour experience.

"Leona is very shy, which could be a good or bad thing. In this business, people want to know you so you've got to be willing to give it," he told the Daily Star

"I hope she starts doing shows to build up her stage presence as it's something you have to train for."

He added that he has been working with Leona on more tracks, including another "big ballad".

It was recently claimed that Leona made £1 million for a private gig for the daughter of mobile phone billionaire John Caudwell.
