R&B star Ne-YO is struggling to spend time apart from his two babies while he's on tour because he is missing so many important childhood milestones.
The Closer hitmaker and his girlfriend Monyetta Shaw are parents to 20-month-old daughter Marilyn and nine-month-old son Mason, and Ne-Yo admits touring to promote his forthcoming album R.E.D. has been hard.
He tells U.S. breakfast show Good Morning America, "The toughest part for me is not being able to be there as much as I'd like to. I'm missing milestones as we speak, not that I don't love being here with y'all, but my daughter just said her first full sentence and I'm not there, so that sucks a little bit."
However, Ne-Yo admits becoming a father hasn't been as overwhelming as he thought it would be.
He says, "It's really not as difficult as people made it out to be. I expected it to be way harder (sic)... My kids are my friends, we cool (sic)."
