Perhaps heeding the admonishment that he who has himself as his attorney has a fool for a client, Tom Crone, the former top attorney for Rupert Murdoch's News International, has hired attorney Henri Brandman to represent him after becoming the 25th person to be arrested in connection with the company's telephone hacking scandal. Crone himself declined to meet with reporters today (Friday) after being arrested on Thursday and being questioned by police regarding his role in the scandal and its subsequent cover-up. Following his release on bail Brandman released a statement saying, "My client has fully assisted the police in their enquiries. He categorically denies the commission of or involvement in any criminal offense. Neither he nor I will be making any further public statement."
