Nick Cannon has been diagnosed with a Lupus-like autoimmune disease. Nick Cannon had been hospitalised earlier this year for blood clots and kidney failure and now doctors have linked his condition with a medical condition that has been described as being similar to Lupus.
Speaking to People magazine, Cannon stated: 'I thought I was getting better and then that happened, so that kind of came out of nowhere. The condition is something I'm going to be living with all my life. I'm just trying to make sure I put my health first. The kidney disease was a result of an autoimmune disease that [doctors] found in my system'. The 31-year old 'America's Got Talent' presenter suggested that the clots may have been directly linked to his kidney infection. He now hopes that his body is on the mend: 'It's a lot of stuff but it's all in order now. They kind of say [my] autoimmune [disease] is - like a lupus type of thing, but no one else in my family has it.'
Cannon has now hinted towards spending more time with his wife Mariah Carey and their 10-month-old twins Moroccan and Monroe who were born last year. Even though he is yet to say whether he will continue presenting the reality show, Cannon did step down from his radio show back in February after being hospitalised.
