Former Oasis rocker Noel Gallagher has ended speculation over his future by announcing he plans to release two new albums.
The guitarist has not put out any new material since the Wonderwall hitmakers split in 2009, while his brother and former bandmate Liam is already pushing on with his career in new group, Beady Eye.
At a specially-arranged press conference on Wednesday (06Jul11), Gallagher announced his apparent hiatus from music is over and confirmed he is set to release two new collections of songs.
The first, titled Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, will be released in October (10) on the rocker's own label, Sour Mash Records. The second disc, an untitled collaboration with British psychedelic duo Amorphous Androgynous, is due to hit stores next year (12).
Gallagher also told reporters he will be touring in support of his debut solo album around the time of its release.
Asked it if bears any resemblance to his previous material, Gallagher said, "People who are fans of what I do will hear echoes of what Oasis do in there."
