Noel Gallagher - Noel Gallagher Hopes Time Will Heal Liam Rift
Noel Gallagher hopes time will ''heal'' his rift with brother Liam, but has ruled out any chance of them getting together before Christmas.
Noel Gallagher hopes time will "heal" his rift with brother Liam.
The siblings have not spoken since the breakup of their band, Oasis, in 2009 - although they have both exchanged insults in the press - but while Noel thinks they will one day put their differences behind them, he warns it won't happen before the festive season this year.
He told Grantland.com: "We never hung out together outside of the band, ever. Now, of course, at some point I'm going to have to sit in a f***ing room with Liam again.
"Hopefully time will heal some of these wounds. But if you're asking me if it's going to be this Christmas - not a f***ing chance."
Guitarist Noel - who is releasing his first album with his Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds project while Liam fronts new band Beady Eye - said he knew it was time to quit Oasis when the bend started to become "violent".
He added: "When things got violent, I left. There is no point in being in a fucking violent rock band. That's nonsense. We've always had a different view of the band: I thought the most important part were the songs, and he thought the most important part was the chaos."
Noel left Oasis before a show in Paris in August 2009 following a huge fight with his brother during which he claims Liam got a guitar and started "wielding it like an axe" and nearly took his "face off with it."
