Noel Gallagher has started recording his solo album, and one track features The Last Shadow Puppets' Miles Kane.

Despite the former Oasis guitarist saying he wouldn't be working on his debut solo album until "well into next year", indie musician Miles revealed he has played on a track for him.

Miles told the BBC's Newsbeat: "I play guitar on one of his songs for his album. I was only in there for a couple of hours. I did my thing."

He couldn't give many more details about the track, but when pushed said he thought the star - who split Oasis after a fall out with his frontman brother, Liam, last year- was still recording tracks.

Miles said his working with Noel came after the 'Wonderwall' hitmaker appeared on a track for his own solo debut, 'My Fantasy'.

He explained: "I was mixing the record and I was going to do these harmonies to give it a boost - it was a bit flat," he said.

"I text Noel saying, I need some icing on this tune and he said, 'Icing is what I do very well'.

"It's only a really subtle thing on the middle eight and the chorus of this song called 'My Fantasy'. It's nice, I'm very honoured that he did it. It's a nice little touch."

Liam Gallagher recently launched his post-Oasis band, Beady Eye, offering their track 'Bring The Light' for free through their website.
