A Norwegian swimming champion has died from a cardiac arrest, just a few months before he was due to compete in the London Olympics.
Alexander Dale Oen, one of Norway's top hopes for bringing home gold at the upcoming 2012 Games, collapsed in a bathroom at a training camp in Flagstaff, Arizona. He was 26 years old.
He was taken to the Flagstaff Medical Center, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Norway coach Petter Loevberg says, "We're all in shock. This is an out-of-the-body experience for the whole team over here. Our thoughts primarily go to his family who have lost Alexander way too early."
