Imprisoned sportsman-turned-actor O.J. Simpson will take the stand in a Las Vegas court this week (begs13May13) in a bid to convince a judge to grant him a retrial over his conviction for kidnapping and armed robbery.
The former American footballer was sentenced to nine to 33 years behind bars following his 2008 conviction for masterminding a heist on two sports memorabilia dealers' hotel room in Sin City in 2007.
He previously lost an appeal against his conviction, but filed new legal papers last year (12) requesting a retrial over allegations he was badly represented by his former Florida-based lawyer, Yale Galanter.
Simpson, 65, will appear in Clark County District Court on Monday (13May13) for the start of a five-day hearing to argue his case, in which the Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult star is expected to take the stand to testify against his ex-legal team.
