Spider Man - Olympian Set For Broadway Role
Bronze medallist Danell Leyva, the American Olympian is reported to be in talks to fulfil a role in Broadway's Spider Man musical.
A supposed fan of the franchise, Leyva went to see Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark and was treated to a meet and greet session with the cast of the show afterwards. Following his brush with the actors, he approached producers, asking about the possibility of him taking on a role of his own in the popular show, reports The New York Post. He won the Bronze medal at the London 2012 Olympics for Men's All Round gymnastics competition.
A source tells the publication, "He has designs on one of the nine Spidey (sic) roles who do the bulk of the swinging around the theatre." A spokesperson for the musical, which features a score by U2 stars Bono and The Edge, says, "The producers are excited about the idea of Danell joining the show."
