Olympics Win Gold Ratings; So Does Idol
So far as the Nielsen top ten list was concerned last week, it was all either Winter Olympics or American Idol . Not another show made the list. Looking below the top ten, the standouts were CBS's new reality series Undercover Boss, which came in at No. 12, NBC's preview of Seinfeld">Jerry Seinfeld-produced Marriage Ref at No. 13 and CBS's Survivor Heroes & Villains at No. 14. The Olympics also helped boost ratings for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams to its strongest ratings since January 17, 2005 (when it was hosted by Tom Brokaw). The newscast attracted 11.12 million viewers. ABC World News with Diane Sawyer was in second place with 8.13 million viewers, followed by CBS Evening News with Katie Couric with 6.47 million viewers.
