U2's 1991 hit single One has been voted their greatest ever song in a new survey.

The Irish band's 12th studio album No Line on the Horizon is released on Monday March 2nd and to commemorate the release, HMV's social networking site getcloser.com asked its users to name their favourite track by Bono and co.

More than 1,000 people have voted in the poll - which is still open - at http://www.getcloser.com/content/u2poll.aspx and One from U2's classic album Achtung Baby is currently top of the chart.

With Or Without You is in second place, with Beautiful Day the only song in the top five from the 21st century.

"It was very close to begin with between One and With Or Without You, but then One started to pull away and comfortably appears to be the favourite U2 song among fans - it's arguably become the band's anthem," said getcloser.com content manager Matt Potter.
