Owen Wilson is to star in a new film with his brother and close friend.

The 'Zoolander' actor and his pal Woody Harrelson will voice the lead characters in animated adventure 'Turkeys', while his sibling Luke Wilson will also set down dialogue for another animal.

Owen and Woody will play turkeys Reggie and Brock, who discover a time machine and travel back to the first Thanksgiving to get their ancestors removed from the traditional holiday menu, in the hope it will prevent them ever ending up as dinner.

'Toy Story 2' and 'Surf's Up' filmmaker Ash Brannon is to direct the movie, while Peter Farrelly will act as executive producer for new family film company Bedrock Studios.

Peter said: "I flipped out about the concept for 'Turkeys' and started yapping about the possibilities."

Bedrock Studios have also acquired the rights to children's novels 'Rats of NIMH' by Robert C. O'Brien, Madeleine L'Engle's 'A Wrinkle in Time' and 'Dinosaur Bob' by William Joyce, all of which are in development.
