Oz The Great And Powerful has continued its reign atop the U.S. box office after raking in a whopping $42.2 million (£26.4 million) over the weekend (15-17Mar13).

The prequel to The Wizard of Oz, which stars Mila Kunis and James Franco, held on to the number one spot for the second week in a row, bumping its domestic total to $145 million (£90.1 million), making it the highest-grossing film of 2013 thus far.

Halle Berry's thriller The Call came in second place with takings of $17.7 million (£11.1 million), while Steve Carell's comedy The Incredible Burt Wonderstone debuted at three with ticket sales of $10.3 million (£6.4 million).

Fantasy adventure film Jack the Giant Slayer came in fourth ($6.2 million/£3.9 million) and Melissa MCCarthy's Identity Thief ($4.5 million/£2.8 million) rounded out the top five.
