Ozzy Osbourne's best-ever Christmas was when he was unconscious in hospital.

The Black Sabbath star - whose duet 'Changes' with daughteR Kelly was number one in the UK from December 14-21 2003 - admits he hates the festive season and would do anything to avoid the holiday period.

He said: "I had a Christmas number one. The only thing is that I was in hospital. When I did that thing with Kelly, I then nearly killed myself in a quad bike accident.

"I was in a coma for a while, so I missed Christmas, thank god.

"If I want to miss Christmas I'll get on my quad bike and break my neck again."

Ozzy - who no longer drinks alcohol following a well-publicised battle with addiction - has previously spoken about how much he despises the festive season and even gifts from wife Sharon can't cheer him up.

He said: "I hate Christmas, I hate it. Everything stops. When I used to drink it was a good excuse to get drunk for two weeks. Now I just hate it.

"I have to unravel all these presents. What a waste of paper."
