Jedward - Passports Ready: Jedward Pack Their Bags For Eurovision 2012
Irish singing twins Jedward have qualified for the Eurovision Song Contest for the second year in a row. The 20-year-old's - who rose to prominence on the sixth series of the X Factor - will fly to Baku, Azerbaijan and represent their country in the annual contest on Saturday evening (May 26, 2012).
The boys performed at Tuesday's semi-final, singing their pop track 'Waterline' whilst wearing silver and gold costumes with their trademark spikey hair. They came eighth in last year's Eurovision contest but have been given another chance by the Irish public. After securing their tickets to Baku, the boys tweeted, "Team Jedward all around the World you are the reason...you are the reason! why we are in the Eurovision Final and we are doing it for you!". Jedward have it all to do to bring home the crown on Saturday, with the Russian grannies Buranovskiye Babushki the likely victors. The United Kingdom's entry Englebert Humperdinck is the outsider with bookmakers - at around 25/1 - though his romantic ballad 'Love Will Set You Free' could be a hit with European audiences despite reaching a lowly 76th place in the UK singles chart. With their secret weapon Jedward heading to Azerbaijan, Ireland are rated an 18/1 chance to win the title.
Ireland's last win in the competition came in 1996, when Eimear Quinn impressed with her song 'The Voice'.
