Former England soccer idol Paul Gascoigne has checked into a rehab clinic to address his addiction issues.
The troubled star has battled serious mental health issues and drink and drug problems in the past, and it was alleged in June (12) he had relapsed during a trip to the United Arab Emirates after he was pictured slumped in a chair and looking bleary eyed as he partied with pals.
Gascoigne spoke out to dismiss the reports, insisting he is still sober and found the allegations "hurtful".
It has now emerged that the star has sought professional help, with a spokesperson telling Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "We can confirm that Paul Gascoigne is currently in an addictions clinic, receiving the best possible care and attention that he requires."
